RECIPES WITH MILK
Milk, oat & raisin pudding
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 40–45 minutes
INGREDIENTS (serves 6 people)
1 lt STAMOU fresh cow’s milk
3 large eggs
3 tbsp brown sugar
12 slices stale toast bread
100 g butter
60 g raisins
40 g rolled oats
Zest of 1 orange
2 tbsp dark soft brown sugar
50 g almonds (roughly chopped)
METHOD
- Heat the milk until warm.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs with brown sugar, then slowly pour in the warm milk while stirring continuously.
- Butter a 20×28×5 cm baking dish.
- Cut each bread slice into 4 triangles and spread butter on both sides.
- Arrange the bread slices in the dish, overlapping them like fish scales.
- Sprinkle with oats, raisins, almonds, and orange zest.
- Pour the milk mixture over the pudding and let it soak in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (or 160°C with fan).
- Sprinkle with dark brown sugar and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and set.
