Everything begins with our love for milk!
Milk is our first source of nutrition. Our first taste in this world. The beginning. Our upbringing. It is a gift and a source of nourishment for everyone, ensuring they grow into strong and capable individuals. Here at Stamou, this is what milk means to us. It is a gift generously given to us by nature. It is the basis of our very existence and strength, since 1964. We use our fresh Greek milk, collected daily, to create the traditional dairy products that we all know and love: our yoghurt, with its velvet creamy texture, our aromatic rice pudding and our exceptional ice cream with its rich flavour and creamy texture.
The taste of our land. Our history. Our experience. Flavours inspired by Greek nature, our respect and care, and our age-old recipes. Flavours created by people who embody skill, patience, and mastery.
Each day begins with our fresh Greek milk, and ends with the assurance and satisfaction that you have enjoyed the full taste and quality of Stamou dairy products.
Why milk?
Why milk?
Our milk isn’t just about taste. Our milk is a way of life. The fact is, its nutritional content compares to that of a full meal. It is rich in proteins, vitamins, and good fats. Cow’s, sheep’s, or goat’s milk, each with their own unique qualities, whole or semi-skimmed, they are all excellent nutritional choices for children and adults alike.
A gift from nature, milk is rich in the nutrients necessary for one’s good health. It is full of proteins and lactose and contains over 400 fatty acids.
Furthermore, it is a natural source of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. If you’re wondering why exactly this is important, remember that approximately 80-90% of our bone mass is made of calcium and phosphorus. When our grandmothers were telling us to “drink your milk, so you’ll have strong bones”, they had a point!
But wait! There’s more! Milk has 10 additional important vitamins. One of those is B12, which is only found in animal products, and is vital for our nervous system and the smooth operation of our brain!
Now, which milk you prefer, depends, of course, on your personal preferences and needs. Cow’s milk contains as many nutrients as a meal when it comes to vitamins and antioxidants. Sheep’s milk, on the other hand, is rich in calcium and proteins – approximately double the amount found in cow’s milk. Finally, goat’s milk has gained popularity in recent years and the nutrients it provides are similar to those we received from our own mother’s milk! Additionally, it is easier to digest and a better choice for those who are lactose intolerant/sensitive.
Whichever milk you prefer, you will find it at Stamou! Everything here begins with our fresh milk!
