RECIPES WITH YOGHURT
“Manti” lamb dumplings with yoghurt sauce
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 35 minutes
INGREDIENTS (serves 4 people)
2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
½ tsp salt
300 g minced lamb
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
500 ml broth or water
Salt and freshly ground pepper
3 tbsp butter
200 g STAMOU Plousio yoghurt
For serving
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp chili flakes
2 tbsp butter
Fresh mint for garnish
METHOD
- Mix the flour with the salt, slowly add the eggs, and a few drops of water.
- Stir and knead to form a dough. Set the dough aside to rest.
- Roll out the dough on the work surface and cut into small rounds using a cookie cutter.
- Mix the minced lamb with the onion, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Place a small amount of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Pinch the edges together with wet fingers to make small pouches.
- Place the dumplings next to each other on a baking tray, brush them with butter, and bake at 170oC for about 20 minutes until golden.
- Next, pour the hot broth over them and continue cooking for another 15 minutes.
- Heat the butter and stir in the spices.
- Serve the manti warm, with the yoghurt and spicy Sprinkle with fresh mint.
