“Manti” lamb dumplings with yoghurt sauce

“Manti” lamb dumplings with yoghurt sauce

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 35 minutes

INGREDIENTS (serves 4 people)

2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
½ tsp salt
300 g minced lamb
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
500 ml broth or water
Salt and freshly ground pepper
3 tbsp butter
200 g STAMOU Plousio yoghurt

For serving
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp chili flakes
2 tbsp butter
Fresh mint for garnish

METHOD

  1. Mix the flour with the salt, slowly add the eggs, and a few drops of water.
  2. Stir and knead to form a dough. Set the dough aside to rest.
  3. Roll out the dough on the work surface and cut into small rounds using a cookie cutter.
  4. Mix the minced lamb with the onion, parsley, salt and pepper.
  5. Place a small amount of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Pinch the edges together with wet fingers to make small pouches.
  6. Place the dumplings next to each other on a baking tray, brush them with butter, and bake at 170oC for about 20 minutes until golden.
  7. Next, pour the hot broth over them and continue cooking for another 15 minutes.
  8. Heat the butter and stir in the spices.
  9. Serve the manti warm, with the yoghurt and spicy Sprinkle with fresh mint.
