RECIPES WITH CHEESE
Savoury cake with herbs
INGREDIENTS (for a 25×12 cm loaf tin)
250 g self-raising flour
300 g STAMOU graviera cheese, grated
6 large eggs
130 ml STAMOU fresh cow’s milk
2 tbsp butter
50 ml cream
1 small bunch of fresh mixed herbs, finely chopped (parsley, basil, thyme)
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Sun-dried tomato tapenade, to serve
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 180oC (160oC with fan).
- Mix the flour with ¼ teaspoon salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, cream, and butter. Pour the mixture into the bowl with the flour and mix until combined.
- Add the graviera cheese, herbs, and freshly ground pepper.
- Pour the mixture into the well-buttered loaf tin and bake for 30 minutes.
- Cover with aluminum foil and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes.
- When it has completely cooled, cut into slices and serve with sun-dried tomato pâté.
For the sun-dried tomato pâté
Add 150 g sun-dried tomatoes and 3 tablespoons olive oil to a blender, and blend until smooth.
