RECIPES WITH MILK
Milk pie with cinnamon essence
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 50 minutes
INGREDIENTS (serves 6-8 people)
6 phyllo pastry sheets
5 tablespoons of cinnamon and sugar
4-5 tablespoons butter
1 shot of cinnamon liqueur (optional)
For the filling:
1L STAMOU cow’s milk
1 tablespoon butter
120 g fine semolina
160 g sugar
2 eggs
A pinch of salt
METHOD
- Beat the sugar, eggs, salt, and half of the milk together.
- Warm the remaining milk in a pan and gradually add the semolina, stirring continuously.
- Then add the egg mixture and continue stirring until the cream thickens.
- Remove the cream from heat, add the butter and let the mixture cool.
- Butter the phyllo sheets one-by-one, sprinkling cinnamon and sugar on top, and lay them out in a circular baking pan.
- Pour the cream mixture on top of the pastry and fold the protruding phyllo sheets over the top of the cream mix.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake at 170°C for approximately 50 minutes.
