RECIPES WITH CHEESE
Feta "saganaki" with honey
INGREDIENTS (serves 4 people)
4 pieces STAMOU feta PDO (100g per piece)
2 eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons of flour
4 tablespoons of sesame and black cumin (optional)
Crushed red pepper (optional)
Honey to serve
METHOD
- Sprinkle flour on the pieces of feta.
- Dip the feta pieces, one by one, into the beaten eggs and lightly drain.
- Mix the sesame seeds and black cumin and dip the feta pieces in the mixture.
- Fry the feta on a medium to high heat for 3 minutes on each side, until a crust forms.
- Drizzle the honey over the feta and sprinkle with crushed red pepper.
* “Saganaki” is a Greek word used for pan-seared cheese.
